Our mission is to improve the health of women, children, and their communities around the world.
Since 1979, we have been designing, implementing and evaluating community-based health programs in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. In 2000, we began to apply our extensive international public health knowledge to improve the health of refugees and immigrants in Minnesota.
Around the world, a woman dies every minute from complications of pregnancy. More than 10 million children under five die each year. Two-thirds of these deaths are preventable. We strive to bring inexpensive, proven health interventions to women and children around the world, including those who have made new homes in Minnesota.
